    What is JAPANeid?

    JAPANeid offers 2 services:

    1. International Delivery
      We deliver exclusive assortments of halal and Muslim-friendly Japanese snacks, candies and delights twice a month. (refer to Shipping)
    2. Souvenir Pickup in Osaka
      For Muslim tourists, you can simply order online, then takeway/pickup your own halal snacks and treats as souvenirs when you're in Osaka.


    We carefully curate and handpick the selections that have no non-halal derivatives and safe from contamination.

    JAPANeid is a mix of the word "JAPAN" and the Arabic word "Eid", which means "feast, festival, holiday" and is a worldwide festival and celebration for Muslims. As our name suggests, we've optimized your box experience to be filled with all Japanese delights that are suitable even for Muslims to enjoy.

    Who owns JAPANeid?

    JAPANeid is operated by Salam Groovy Japan, a Japanese media that delivers Muslim-friendly/Halal resources in Japan from tourism to food.

    Both brands are owned by a Japanese company, mainly involved in recruitment advertising, "J-Line Corporation". All copyrights for images, videos, logos, etc. of JAPANeid are hold by J-Line Corporation.

    Do you have a physical shop?

    Yes, we do in Osaka (Japan), opens on Weekdays on 11:30 am - 6pm.
    The shop is closed on Sat-Sun, Japan public holiday.

    How are you different from other Japanese snack subscriptions?

    Right off the bat, we may be

    1. The 1st in Japan to offer Japanese treat box/pack that are entirely Muslim-friendly and halal.
      We only curate using the items that have already been confirmed and checked to be safe from non-halal derivatives, with no non-halal ingredients in them.
    2. You can buy our packs in bulk.
      When you buy in bulks, you will also get volume discounts, which are automatically calculated upon checkout.
    3. For Muslim tourists, you can pickup your own halal souvenirs in Osaka
      Just order online via our website, then pick your order up when you're in Osaka at our pickup spot

    What is your Muslim-friendly/Halal Policy?

    We are not a Halal certification organization. However, we guarantee that all the snacks featured in our packs have been pre-checked and deemed Muslim-friendly.

    Why do I have a different item in my snack pack?

    Why You May Get A Different Item?

    • Certain items may be prohibited to be shipped to your country

    We would replace the prohibited snack with a different snack to ensure your pack will not contain items listed as prohibited for your country.

    • Due to the supplier's situation, certain items may be out of stock

    When we procure items from the supplier, certain products could be out of stock or the supplier may have an internal issue (e.g. Covid-19 cluster) that affect their stock/delivery situation.

    Even though, you may get something different from others, we can make sure such issues will not affect your bundle and we can deliver the best of snacks to you each time💕

    Oh no! The snack I want is out of stock

    If you see that a snack or set is out of stock, don't worry! There might still be some in our warehouse.

    Are the items vegetarian/gluten-free?

    As nutritional information for each item is different, we cannot guarantee that all snacks in a given month’s box will be gluten-free or vegetarian.

    Although we do not accept items with animal ingredients, some items may include dairy, egg and seafood, so they may not be entirely vegetarian friendly.

    Can I customize my box/pack for dietary restrictions and food allergies?

    We currently do not offer the option to customize boxes/packs for certain dietary restrictions or food allergies.

    We recommend you to see our Muslim-friendly policy and refer the nutritional information we provide for each snack before purchasing via this page (in preparation).

    I think my snacks are expired!

    Let's take a deep breath and calm down! Japan writes their snacks in the YEAR/MONTH/DATE format. So, if it says 2023/7/25 or 23/7/25, it means 25 July 2023.

    Some also written as YEAR/MONTH format only. For example, 2023/08 (means August 2023)

    We would never sell you expired items. If you're worried that your item has expired, contact us via Contact Form below and please prepare a clear photo of the treat along with the expiration date for our follow up.

    I want to subscribe for monthly delivery!

    We're so happy you want to receive our boxes/packs monthly. We currently do not offer any subscription plans, but we do have plans to include them in the future.

    So, in the meantime, if you want to receive our selections every month, please place an order manually each month via this website.

    What is Hotel Drop?

    You want halal souvenirs but can't visit our pickup spot?
    Then, you can choose our Hotel Drop (local delivery) to get your halal souvenirs delivered to your accommodation (hotel, etc.).

    BUT before ordering, please confirm with your hotel in advance if they can accept delivery goods.

    Why do I need to confirm with my hotel before order?

    We know it sounds confusing! BUT you'll be surprised on how some hotels in Japan do not accept delivery goods.

    That's why we need you to check:

    • Does your hotel accept delivery goods?
    • How many days in advance can they accept delivery goods?

    When should I place an order?

    We want to make sure the souvenirs arrive onto your hands safe and sound!

    We recommend to order at least:

    • For regions other than Hokkaido/Okinawa
      3 business days before your desired arrival date
    • For Hokkaido/Okinawa regions
      4 business days before your desired arrival date
    • For remote islands
      Delivery will take longer so we suggest 14 business days before.

    How much is the delivery cost?

    Please refer to this table for delivery rates (the pricing is tax included).

    What happens if I won't be staying at that hotel?

    If you've already completed an order and we've delivered to the hotel address you registered, please note that we are not responsible in the case you cannot retrieve the package due to changes in your stay schedule in Japan.

    Do I need to pay extra fee for pickup?

    No, you don't! If you order to pickup your snack souvenirs, you do not have to pay any postage/delivery fee.

    All you need is order on our website, then visit our pickup spot in Osaka on your chosen date to retrieve your order.

    When can I pick up my order?

    Please check our Google Calendar (at the bottom of this website) for availability. 
    We want to make sure we are available to assist you during your visit to Japan.

    • Pick up hours: Between 11:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. 
    • Not available on: Weekends & Holidays
    • Save a proof of your purchase (for identification) and avoid showing it to unrelated party.

    Once you placed an order, be sure to visit our pickup spot to retrieve your order on the date/time you chose

    What if I don't come on the chosen date/time?

    If you can't come on the day you're supposed to pick up your order, we can keep your order (with a notice/some form of contact from you) for 10 days after the designated pick up date.

    Please note that your purchase cannot be refunded after the 10-day period.

    How much is shipping?

    We ship using Japan Post. The rates (are based on weight) will automatically come out during checkout, including rates for bulk orders.

    When does my box ship?

    We now ship every two weeks: mid-month and month-end.

    You will receive a shipment notification when your box has been shipped. And you will receive a dedicated link containing details of each snack sent to you accordingly via email.

    My box/order has shipped. When will it arrive?

    Orders usually arrive 3-5 days after the ship date. Some countries may take up 1 week.

    But please allow up to 1-2 weeks as there might be local customs or weather delays.

    What is the cutoff to order the current box/pack?

    As we deliver every two weeks from now on. In a month, we have TWO cutoff dates.

    • Every 10th on 11:59:59 P.M. JST 
    • Every 25th on 11:59:59 P.M. JST
    • If the dates fall in a holiday, they may change to the date before/after.

    For orders received by 10th, they will be shipped in MID-MONTH. While orders received by 25th, they will be shipped in END-MONTH.

    Why do you ship biweekly?

    Instead of once-per-month, we are shipping every two weeks!

    This means we will be shipping twice a month: mid-month and month-end.

    For example, you want to order in September.
    If you order by 10 Sept., your order will be shipped around mid-September (around the 15th). If you order by 25 Sept., your order will be shipped in end-September (by 30th).

    SO, why do we do this?

    1. To maintain current shipping fee:
      We are a start-up, so we do not have our own warehouse. And to make sure we can maintain our current shipping fee and save shipping cost, we deliver all the orders together in this way. In the future, this may be able to help us reduce the shipping we offer.
    2. To source and find Muslim-friendly/halal treats:
      Our curation process also include checking the halal-ness of the products. And this can be hard as it may take a long time for us to get confirmation from the manufacturers

    How do I order bulk purchases?

    Thank you for wanting to share the JAPANeid love with your friends and family💕

    Because we need a unique shipping address attached to each order, it's currently not possible to order multiple boxes going to different addresses in the same order.

    BUT we do offer bulk orders only if each packs are going to the same address. And the shipping fee will be automatically updated upon checkout.

    When there's a miscalculation in your shipping fee discount, we will refund the amount back to you.

    Will customs delay my package arriving?

    We recommend you double-check any customs regulations that can affect your shipment and cause delays or problems.

    When items are shipped internationally, every shipment must go through customs. This may cause a slight delay in the arrival of your shipment. After customs clear your package, it will be set to be delivered to your local post office! 

    Please note that shipments to the EU and more may require additional information from customs such as your Passport No. or Tax ID, and may require a duty payment before the parcel is cleared by customs. 

    Do you ship to Japan?

    For those traveling in Japan, you can now get our snack selection via these services:

    For certain destinations, additional information may be necessary to facilitate the shipment of the items. For example:

    • Indonesia: NIK/ driver's license/passport number
    • France: Door code (if you live in a building that needs one)
    • Qatar: phone number

    I checked my tracking number. Why hasn't my package moved?

    We do wish we could speed up how fast you get your package, but, unfortunately, we cannot control any delays that might happen while your JAPANeid is in transit!

    All international shipments are subject to customs inspection. Once your package arrives in the destination country, customs will inspect the package. We do not have any control over when they will release the package. Please keep an eye on your tracking information to watch its progress!

    What does "retention" mean on my tracking status?

    If your tracking has "Retention" status under the shipping tracking record column, it is either being held at customs for inspection, or the package was delivered and no one was there to receive it.

    You (or the recipient) should have received a slip from the postal carrier with instructions on how to retrieve the package. If you did not receive a slip, there is a chance the package is still at customs for inspection and you may need to wait a few days for it to clear customs.

    We also recommend you contact your local post office as soon as possible, so you can resolve the issue.

    Please note that JAPANeid cannot control how long customs may detain or when they release a package.

    What does "Arrival At Collection Point" mean?

    If your tracking says: "Item arrival at the collection point for pick-up" that means your parcel is ready for pickup at the local post office branch. We recommend that you contact your local post office immediately or your item will be shipped back to us!

    Please contact your local post office to get more information about the delivery.

    My tracking says my package is at the post office. Do I need to go pick it up?

    If you see "Item Arrival At Collection Point" on your tracking - please go to your local post office ASAP with your tracking number and valid photo ID.

    If you do not know where your local post office is, please call your country's main post office helpline to determine where your item is being held at.

    If you do not do this within a certain time frame, your package will be shipped back to Japan.

    Can I pay in other currency than USD?

    Our prices are in USD.
    You can automatically change the currency from the pulldown button located at the top of this website.

    Kindly note the exchange rate fluctuates every day so we cannot quote you the specific price.

    While the content of your cart is currently displayed in your currency of choice, you will checkout using USD at the most current exchange rate.

    What happens if I'm charged VAT, customs taxes, or fees?

    Each country has its own laws and regulations when it comes to processing shipments from other countries. If customs charges fees or taxes charges do occur, you are 100% responsible for the fees. JAPANeid is not responsible for customs charges or taxes that your country may charge you upon delivery. Customs tax is charged by your local government and JAPANeid does not have control if you are charged import taxes.

    What payment methods can I use?

    We currently accept payments through PayPal, Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay and all major credit cards. All payments are taken through our secure checkout and we never share any of your details with third-parties.

    Can I buy more even though I've already completed a purchase?

    Yes, you can! Your amount CAN be adjusted even after your purchase is complete.

    If you ever want to make an additional purchase (even after you've completed one), just contact us. We will calculate everything for you and send the payment link straight to you, as long as the purchase is made in time before the order cutoff date or shipping.
